La Bouyardiere is open for business!
Updated: Aug 30, 2018
It has taken 6 months to get La Bouyardiere ready for guests from finding the property, to decorating and then finding people to help with key tasks such as the garden, cleaning and "turnovers" ie when guests leave. What could possibly go wrong!?

Buying La Bouyardiere
We had an easy journey really. We picked our area, narrowed it down and then asked contacted local estate agents who spoke English - and in fact were English!

We picked an approximate area in which to search for our holiday home
My wife and youngest son came over to look at houses in the middle of one of the harshest winters the people of Normandy can remember, Having been over to scope the areas we liked (and could afford) we settled on the area between Mayenne in the Loire, and Flers in Normandy. After looking at a number of interestingly laid out properties in varying stages of repair, Amanda my wife was taken to La Bouyardiere, a 1920's traditional Normandy stone farmhouse, We had found our Gite which happened to be in a good state of repair with 6 bedrooms! Despite the inclement weather, the house stood out in an area of outstanding natural beauty - should look good in summer then!
We put in the offer and within 1 month it was ours - no real stress and an easy process with no fear of gazumping due to the well tried and tested french house buying and selling process. Let the adventure begin - history, cycling, canoeing, fishing, food, drink, restaurants, swimming - all now tested by us to let our guests know the fantastic activities available nearby!
